In honor of Armond Hauge’s 100th birthday on September 2, 2026, the Greater Denfeld Foundation continues to celebrate his legacy of empowering Denfeld graduates through the life-changing Armond Hauge Scholarship.
For Stylianos Regas (Class of 2023), that support cleared a path all the way from Duluth to Phoenix, Arizona.
A Phone Call to Remember
Stylianos remembers the exact moment he found out he was selected for the Armond Hauge Scholarship. He was cleaning off tables after church when the notification hit his inbox.

“I was in complete shock,” Stylianos recalls. “Instantly, I called my mom to tell her the news. She had me repeat the scholarship amount twice just to confirm it was real! The generous support took a huge chunk of the burden off my parents. It gave me the confidence in knowing that I had done the work, and that there were people who believed in me.”
Freedom to Explore, Experience, and Excel
That financial backing gave Stylianos the freedom to choose Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, where he is now pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Cybersecurity.
Rather than being tied down by financial stress, Stylianos has been able to fully immerse himself in university life. He joined the campus Run Club as a freshman and will serve his third year as club captain this fall. More importantly, the support allowed him to stay in Arizona over this past summer to gain hands-on, real-world tech experience working as a Software Engineer alongside one of his professors.
Now heading into his senior year, Stylianos is well-positioned to step straight into the technology field after graduation.

“With this scholarship, my path forward was truly unlimited,” says Stylianos. “No matter what I need to do to get a job in the technology landscape, I know I will always have my family and the Hauge family behind me.”
Happy 100th Birthday, Mr. Hauge—your generous legacy continues to give Denfeld scholars like Stylianos the wings to soar.
