Regine Frederick – Dreaming Big from Duluth to Hollywood

October 6, 2026

At Denfeld High School, students are encouraged to reach for the stars, and Class of 2025 graduate Regine Frederick is doing just that!

Having wrapped up her first year at Chapman University in Orange, California, Regine is turning her creative passions into reality. She is pursuing a BFA in Writing for Film and Television with a minor in Film Music—a pathway that puts her right in the heart of the storytelling industry.

A Community That Has Your Back

Choosing a top-tier, out-of-state university is a bold step, but it often comes with the daunting reality of higher education costs. For Regine, receiving the Armond Hauge Scholarship provided the relief and confidence she needed to chase her dreams.

“When my name was called as a recipient on the Denfeld Auditorium stage, I felt truly seen and supported by everyone around me,” Regine shares. “Because of the financial support I received, I’ve made it to Chapman University stages, where I’m witnessing new wonders and joining more communities.”

The financial lift brought immediate peace of mind. After her initial payment, the scholarship funds kept her account ahead for future semesters—lifting the weight of debt and validating her choice to aim high.

Building Skills and Meeting Legends

With that financial weight off her shoulders, Regine hit the ground running in Southern California! Beyond writing personal scripts, developing animated shorts, and collaborating on student films, she spent her summer creating a short animated film called “Hooked” using techniques learned in college. Watch for “Hooked” at Duluth area film-festivals in 2027!

Her college journey has already brought unforgettable moments—including meeting her screenwriting and animation idol, Brad Bird (director of The Incredibles), who offered invaluable insights for her future career!

Shining Bright

Armond Hauge’s vision was to ensure Denfeld graduates could pursue higher education without financial barriers. Regine’s journey is a shining example of that vision in action, opening doors to film career opportunities she once only dreamed of.

We could not be prouder of Regine and can’t wait to see her name in movie credits! Keep shining, Regine!
